The Instituto Universitario Aeronautico was founded in 1947 and pioneered university-level distance education in Argentina in 1987.

Admission:
Applicants must have a complete secondary education.

Services:
The main method of delivery of distance education courses is in the form of printed correspondence texts prepared by specialists contracted by the IUA. Existing textbooks supplement printed correspondence texts and collections of readings compiled by the Institute. Other services include audio and video cassettes, face-to-face and telephone tutoring and counselling, counselling by letter, study centres and residential schools. Students must present themselves in person for the final examination. The library has some publications on distance education, including instructional materials from other institutions. It offers a loan service to its students.

The academic year runs from February to November.
